Former University of New Hampshire receiver, Spaulding High School graduate and Orange Vermont native David Ball has an NFL Home. Ball has signed a deal that will make him a member of the Chicago Bears.

On the edge of the Texas Gulf is a 370-pound football player who can execute a perfect forward flip. When he lands, the ground trembles. Thomas is as close as modern football can come to an old-fashioned sleeper. In the past two years, his only playing experience was at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Miss. He played in two games, both losses. Football teams everywhere are filled with big men, but many of them can barely move. Thomas has run the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds, faster than some N.F.L. tight ends.

Isn’t “Affordability Tour” Really An Oxymoron

This past Friday, we were discussing the Vermont Leadership Institute’s latest fundraising brainstorm: a closed raffle for a new Prius, 1000 tickets maximum, $100 a piece. And we were lamenting the fact that even with those sweet odds, it’s a relatively short list in Vermont who could afford to get in on the fun.

Well, let’s not forget one name on that list: Jim Douglas.

Seattle, WA (KIRO-TV) - The Washington State Patrol says 54-year-old Deana Jarrett was arrested Thursday afternoon for being an imminent threat to public safety after she was arrested with a blood-alcohol level of .47 last week.
