It's Okay To Drink From The Toilet...

We reported this invention back in September 2007. I was doing some house cleaning on the blog and I came across this post and I found it as interesting now as it was then. This device could have a huge impact on developing nations where infrastructure is poor or non-existent.

I went to the company website to get an update and found that you can purchase one of these devices for $230. While that may sound expensive, consider the uses. It would certainly be a great addition to any emergency preparedness kit and if you're a camper or hiker, this is a no-brainer...

Russian MIG 29 Shoots Down Unmanned Drone

The Russians have shot down a Georgian unmanned recon drone that was flying in Georgian airspace. The Georgians, who are understandably mad, have offered this video as proof. This isn't the first time a MIG has shot down a drone aircraft. In 2002, an Iraqi MIG shot down one of our Predators.

Director David Lynch on the iPhone

I think that director David Lynch is spot on with his assesment of wathing a movie on an iPhone....



I mean cone on.....for the price of a nice medium size television, you can watch a tiny little screen. The real point he's making is that a lot is lost in the translation when you view a film on such a small screen. Something that I've thought since the advent of all these devices. I suppose it would do in a pinch, but I'm rarely in that much of a pinch!

I saw this post from Cathy Resmer at Seven Days. A pillow fight broke out in Brattleboro and another is apparently scheduled for July 28th in Montpelier. ...I can hardly wait!

A Major League Meltdown...

A major league meltdown by a minor league manager earned him a three-game suspension and worldwide fame on the Internet. Combining bits of Earl Weaver, Billy Martin and Lou Piniella, the weekend tantrum by Double-A manager Phillip Wellman prompted his bosses at the Atlanta Braves to take action Monday.

I love it! This guy just completely loses his mind. I wish I could hear what he was saying...now that's priceless. I just hope we never see that at a Vermont Mountaineers game....

These hillarious clips are from a show in England called "Berry and Fulcher's Snuff Box". They are really funny but contain a fair amount of adult content (They show that on TV over there?) and some references that you may not get at all. Overall...prepare to bust a gut laughing......I did!

This would work in Vermont...

I think this would be an effective technique for law enforcement in Vermont to use. I'm sure that a jury that saw this on video would have no trouble handing down a DUI conviction. Even the alleged liberal judges we have might have difficulty handing out a "reduced to nothing" sentence....and wouldn't Bill O'reilly be proud that we've taken such a no nonsense approach! I would imagine this law enforcement technique could be especially useful in places like Hardwick, Milton or any other "hotspots" in Vermont you can imagine...
